Heroes

You play as a Hero and work together with a Companion. Every Hero belongs into a Faction and has a unique ability. The hero will determine your strategy, and it is essential to use their ability wisely to win the game. Your chosen Hero determines how many cards you can have in your Reserve and as Landmarks at the end of the day.

Characters

Characters are always played in an Expedition. The Forest, Mountain and Water values of your Characters are used to determine whether your Expedition continues that round. In addition, Characters have a Hand Cost and a Reserve Cost that must be paid to play the Character. Special Abilities differ per Character, but can also differ between the Common and Rare versions of the card. Each Character has a Common, two Rare and Unique versions. Of these, one of the weird versions is from a different Faction than the rest of the versions.

Spells

After they have been played and their effect has taken effect, Spells go directly to the Reserve. If the spell is played again from the Reserve, the card becomes fleeting and is therefore discarded immediately after the effect has been performed.

Permanent - Landmark

Permanents or Landmarks do not go to Reserve at the end of a round. They remain in the Landmark Zone until a card tells them to be banished or go to the Reserve. There is room for two cards in your Landmark Zone. When you play a third card, at the end of the round you must choose two cards that remain, the rest goes to your Discard.
